Thamesville’s Brady Hogg will get the chance to play for Team Canada next summer after being officially named to Canada’s National Junior Softball roster.

The catcher attended a selection camp in PEI immediately following the Canadian U18 National Championships, where Hogg was named tournament MVP, and eventually helped his Chepstow Lang Farms team win gold.

Catcher Brady Hogg of Thamesville was named Friday to the Softball Canada junior men’s national team.

Hogg was selected after attending the national team’s selection camp in late August in O’Leary, P.E.I.

“With the team now selected, we are looking forward to working with our athletes as we prepare them for the World Championship in 2018,” Junior National team head coach Jeff Ellsworth, said in a Softball Canada news release “We asked the athletes to make our team selection decisions difficult and they did not disappoint. We are very pleased with the high level of competitiveness they displayed throughout the identification and selection process. ”

Brady Hogg, along with the 16 other selected players, will travel to the 2018 WBSC Junior Men’s Softball World Championship in Prince Albert, Saskatchewan from July 7-15 next summer.
