McEwan Assigned To AHL
The Laval Rocket opened their training camp Monday with 24 players in camp, including McEwan.
They will continue with their tryouts at La Place Bell, including two exhibition games against the Belleville Senators September 30 and October 1.
Should McEwan earn a roster spot with the Laval Rocket, or their ECHL farm team the Brampton Beast, he could forgo his overage OHL season with the Guelph Storm and turn professional immediately.
Last season, the 1997 born forward, who is an alumni of the Chatham-Kent Cyclones and Chatham Maroons, scored 19 goals and 39 points with the OHL’s Storm in 58 games.
