Lakers Beat Kings In Home Opener

The Wallaceburg Lakers bounced back after a difficult opening weekend of the season, beating the Dresden Kings at their home opener Wednesday night 5-3.

Zachery Hartig scored twice to lead the Wallaceburg Lakers to a comeback win after Dresden got up 3-1 early.

Zander Wright, Cody Nicholaisen, and Ty Lucio also scored for the Lakers, while Ryan MacAlpine and Tyler McLean each had a pair of assists.

Kevin Ritzer had two goals and an assist for Dresden, Brantley Kuipers had a goal and an assist, and Brendan Ritchie had two assists.

Josh Loranger made 20 saves in the Wallaceburg net. Wallaceburg outshot Dresden in the win as well, with the shots ending 28-23.

Wallaceburg now has a week off before they face Lakeshore next Wednesday at home. Dresden hosts Essex this Friday.
