Bechard Shines In OUA Debut
Dover Centre’s Burke Bechard got off to a shining start in her OUA career this week, playing a starring role for the Guelph Gryphons.
The Gryphons fell 70-61 against the McMaster Marauders, but Bechard earned high praise from the Guelph coaching staff.
“Burke set the tone defensively for us tonight. She was getting deflections, coming up with steals, grabbing rebounds. It’s a treat to watch the way she battles every play,” said Gryphons head coach Mark Walton in a team news release.
Bechard had 9 points, 7 rebounds, 4 steals and 3 assists in the game.
She played for the Chatham-Kent Secondary School Golden Hawks, and London Ramblers prior to attending Guelph.
