Lakers Fall to Essex
The Wallaceburg Lakers, while showing signs of improvement, were still no match for the first place Essex 73’s in PJHL action Wednesday night at the Wallaceburg Memorial Arena, falling by a score of 7-3.
Wyatt O’Neil’s hat trick led Essex, while William Stadder added a goal and three assists.
The Lakers got goals from Drew Fisher, Bailey Smith and Austin Bentley, and Jake Vancoillie chipped in with three assists.
The Lakers were out-shot by Essex 40 – 30.
Wallaceburg will be home to host Dresden next Wednesday night, Dec. 6th for the annual Teddy Bear Toss game.
Fans are reminded to bring a stuffed toy and toss it on the ice when the Lakers score their 1st goal next week.
Friday the 8th the Lakers will head east for the rematch in Dresden with those same Junior Kings.
Fans responded to the Salvation Army food drive tonight contributing a nice haul of canned goods and non perishable food items to help fill the food bank shelves in Wallaceburg, and the Lakers would like to thank them for their generosity while wishing the Salvation Army all the best with this year’s Christmas drive.
