Lakers Give Back, Donate To Breast Buddies
Wallaceburg Lakers President Paul Turner (pictured) presented a cheque to the Breast Buddies dragon boat team in the amount of $1,200 on Saturday November 18. The funds were raised in October during the Lakers’ Annual Breast Cancer Awareness night.
“The Breast Buddies organization is an important part of our community and we couldn’t think of a better organization to support during Breast Cancer Awareness Month.”, said the President of the Lakers, “We would like to thank all of our supporters for making this donation a possibility.”
Spokesperson Kathlene Myers expressed deep gratitude for the donation,”The Breast Buddies team is very grateful and overwhelmed for the support and generosity of both the Lakers organization and the Wallaceburg community. Our team is travelling to an international race in Italy in 2018 and these funds will make a difference towards our goals.” The Lakers have been invited to join the Breast Buddies on the dragon boat in the spring.
The Breast Buddies dragon boat team is a breast cancer support group that promotes awareness of quality of life after breast cancer. As a support group, they are always looking to encourage more women.
