Lakers Showing Improvement, Despite Another Loss

Although showing signs of further improvement the Wallaceburg Lakers lost another one on Wednesday night at the Wallaceburg Memorial Arena.

The Amherstburg Admirals scored one last goal half way through the third period to put the dagger in a 4-1 win. It was a penalty filled affair which saw the Lakers seemingly score a first period goal that none of the officials saw. That no-goal-gaff had quite an impact on the rest of the game.

The Lakers lone official goal was scored by Bailey Smith, his first as a member of the team.  Travis Moore turned in another solid effort stopping 36 of 40 shots in his second game with the team.  The Lakers answered with 31 shots of their own.

The Lakers will step up to help the Wallaceburg Salvation Army fill the food bank shelves in town later this month.  Fans are asked to bring canned goods and non perishable food items to the Nov. 29th game with Essex.  The Teddy Bear Toss game will follow early in December.

The next ‘Skate With the Lakers’ game will take place following the game on Wednesday Dec. 27.
