Blades Announce New Coaching Staff

Blenheim Blades have a new coaching staff in place.

Just days after head coach Bill Cumming and defensive coach Shawn Tiffin were released, GM Lonnie Hamilton has announced the team’s new coaching staff for the remainder for the 2017-18 Provincial Junior Hockey League’s Stobbs Division season.

Ken Gagner, who was Cumming’s associate coach, has moved into the head coach’s position; with assistant coach Evan Merritt staying on board in the same capacity.

Steve Escott continues as the goalie coach.

New in assistant coach’s rolls are current assistant general manager Kent Hamilton, Ken Gagner’s brother Steve, Jeff Fancy and Scott Teron.

Fancy is the father of the Blades rookie Lucas Fancy and played goal for the Blades for four seasons in the 1990s.

All the new staff has extensive ‘AAA’ coaching experience.
