Laprise Survives Early Scare For UFC Win

Chad Laprise (second from left) of Chatham celebrates his UFC victory in Winnipeg

Chad Laprise of Chatham improved to 6-2 in the UFC, and 13-2 professionally after earning a first round TKO victory over Galore Bofando at UFC Fight Night in Winnipeg, Manitoba.

“I worked really hard for this fight, I didn’t take Galore lightly, at all,” said Laprise after the fight. “I did a 13-week training camp for this fight, as if this were a world title fight. It’s just nice to go out and get the first round stoppage. That’s three finishes in a row now for me in UFC.”

Many thought the fight might go the other way early on after Bofando knocked down Laprise early in the fight, but Laprise overcame the scare, and mounted Bofando.

The fight was stopped at 4:10 of the first round, for the TKO by punches for Laprise.
