The Chatham Maroons put together a winning effort Sunday night at home, defeating the Strathroy Rockets 3-1 in front of 756 fans at Chatham’s Memorial Arena.

Noah Bushnell opened the scoring in the first period, with assists going to Noah Labonte and Josh King.

After Strathroy tied the game, and through a scoreless second period, the Maroons headed for the third tied 1-1 with the Rockets.

Bushnell, however, was up to the challenge again, scoring his second of the night only five minutes in, which would stand as the eventual game winner. Grant Spence and Jake O’Donnell picked up assists.

Steven Fowler would add an insurance marker later in the third, with Dane Johnstone collecting the lone helper on the goal.

Ryan Wagner was excellent in net, making 37 saves in the win.
