Maroons Trade For “D” Depth

Tyler Beneteau is the newest member of the Chatham Maroons, after being acquired from the Sarnia Legionnaires.

The sixth place Chatham Maroons have made a move to bolster their defensive core.

Chatham has acquired D-man Tyler Beneteau from the Sarnia Legionnaires.

Property of the OHL’s London Knights, the 17-year-old Windsor native was selected 57th overall in the 2017 OHL Under 18 Draft. He comes to the Maroons with 12 assists through 22 games.

Beneteau was a two-way blueliner in his AAA days, with 37 points in the Windsor Jr Spitfires system fron 2015-2017.

The new acquisition is expected to be in the line up Wednesday night as the 12-12 Maroons travel to LaSalle.

Chatham has also officially welcomed Dawson Garcia, a defenceman from Oakville, to the fold. Garcia was expected to be joining the team before the Christmas break. He did so on Tuesday, skating during practice with his new teammates. Garcia previously spent time in toe NOJHL with Elliot Lake and the GOJHL with Ancaster.
