WDSS Swimmers Hold Their Own

The Tartans made some waves on Tuesday Dec 5th in Windsor at the WIATC.  The Windsor Invitational swim meet over 400 swimmers and 21 schools.  In this meet, high school and club swimmers are mixed for all events and WDSS swimmers held their own.

Emily Tapp had an excellent day clocking OFSAA standard times in the Sr girls 200 Free and 100 Free.  She placed 3rd in the 200 Free, 8th in the 100 IM and 4th in the 100 Free.  In each event, she was the top high school swimmer, being out touched by only club swimmers.

Megan Maxim was also a top high school finisher placing 3rd in the Sr girls 50 Fly and 100 Breast.

The Sr Girls relays continue to impress and improve their time placing 3rd in the Sr girls Freestyle relay and 4th in the Medley Relay.

The team had a few new SWOSSAA qualifiers:  Tallie Laprise in Sr girls 100 Free and Chelsey Johnson in sr girls 100 back, 100 IM and 50 Fly.

Congratulations to heat winners Sara Park in the sr girls 100 free and Alvero Escadero in the sr boys 50 free.

Johnathon McCaughrin, Rory Young, Zoe Broadbent, Elena Dratva and Liam Hurst all set new personal best times.

The team’s next meet is on Friday Dec. 15th in Petrolia.
