Heartbreak For Canada, Agosta
Former Chatham hockey player Meghan Agosta had the game on her stick, but it wasn’t to be, as she missed her final attempt in the gold medal shootout last night at the Pyeongchang Olympics.
The USA defeated Canada 3-2 to win gold.
Agosta picked up her 5th point of the tournament, assisting on a Marie-Philip Poulin goal in the second period.
The game was tied 2-2 after regulation and overtime, sending it to a shootout.
Agosta scored on her first shootout attempt, but was denied as the final shooter of the game.
Agosta, who said prior to the games she does not intend to retire at this point, has 3 Olympic Gold medals and now a Silver.
