Locals Take Road Trip To Celebrate Carleton

A local group of 42 fans recently traveled to the Hilton Coliseum to visit Chatham-Kent’s own Bridget Carleton and the Iowa State Cyclones.

The Chatham native continues her ascent as one of the most promising young stars on the court, representing Team Canada at the FIBA AmeriCup in Argentina and winning a gold medal for Canada’s Senior Women’s National Team.

A graduate of John McGregor Secondary School, Carleton has become a star for Iowa State and the entire NCAA.

Following last year’s All-Big 12 First Team honours, Bridget has increased her play, averaging 18.7 points per game along with 6.7 rebounds, 3.4 assists, 2 steals and and 1 block per game.

As 2017 came to a close, Carleton was named CKSN.ca’s Female Athlete of the year and found herself as one of 20 NCAA players on the watch list for the 2018 Cheryl Miller Award by the Naismith Memorial Basketball Hall of Fame and the Women’s Basketball Coaches Association, awarded to the top small forwards in women’s NCAA DI basketball.
