Lucas Fancy, Dresden Staff Runners Up At PJHL Awards

Lucas Fancy was runner up for the PJHL Stobbs Division Rookie of the Year, while Dresden’s coaching staff were runners up for Best Coaching Staff as the league handed out their annual awards.

Lucas Fancy, a 16-year-old underage player from Chatham, scored 33 points in 34 regular season games with the Blenheim Blades this year, good for third on the team in scoring.

Fancy is an alumni of the Chatham-Kent Cyclones organization. He had 15 goals, including 2 game winners this season.

Wyatt O’Neil of the Essex 73s was the winner in this category.

The Dresden Jr. Kings coaching staff including Head Coach Rob Vanderydt, and Assistant Coaches Burke Daugherty, Bill Nicholson, and Tom VanEerd were also recognized as runners up after a strong campaign.

The coaching staff helped the Kings to their best finish in recent years, finishing one point out of first in the PJHL Stobbs Division with a 27-9-1-3 record.

The Mooretown Flags’ coaching staff won the Best Coaching Staff Award.
