Chatham Outlaws goaltender Mikayla Demaiter won the organization’s highest award recently at the Outlaws Award banquet, as she was named the annual Heart Award winner.

Other nominees for the award included from the Midget A, Ryanne Logan and Kaitlyn Vancoille, from Novice Adelaide Cranston and Hayden Heinhuis, from Midget C Chantelle Legere and Sorcha Rountree, from Bantam B Kaitlyn Warner and Gillian Krekewich, from Peewee A Ashlynn Spence and Lucie Maine,from Atom A Payton Logan-Whiteye and Libby Pink, from Bantam A Taryn Jacobs and Sophie Coristine, and from the Midget AA team Mikayla Demaiter and Lauren Edwards.

Demaiter has played three season of Midget AA hockey in Sarnia, Bluewater, and this year, with the Outlaws.

She also helped the CKSS Golden Hawks win their first SWOSSAA title in a decade, and will backstop the Hawks at OFSAA next week.
