It has been a successful month for the Chatham Ballhawks organization. This past weekend, the 16U Girls Chatham Ballhawks volleyball team continued the club’s winning ways, taking silver medals in the 16U Divivion 2 Tier 1 this weekend at provincials.

In the preliminary round, Chatham defeated the Straford Stingers 25-19, 25-6, fell to the Phoenix Blaze (Toronto) 16-25, 18-25, and beat the Orillia Suns Eclipse 25-18, 25-3.

After being re-pooled, Chatham continued their successful tournament, beating Hamilton Smash Teal 14-25, 25-21, 15-9, narrowly falling to Wildcats Tigers (Markham) 26-28, 25-12, 12-15, and coming up with a win over the Maverick Gamblers (Ottawa) 25-22, 25-10.

In the playoff round, the Ballhawks defeated Reach Affinity (Richmond Hill) 10-25, 25-21, 15-8 in the round of 16, before taking on, and handling the Durham Attack Red (Oshawa) 25-23, 21-25, 17-15 in the quarterfinals.

Facing the Waterdown Raiders in the semi-finals, Chatham came away with a 25-15, 23-25, 15-7 win to advance to the final.

In the finals, Chatham played to a close match, but in the end, the Woodstock Warriors took the gold 23-25, 25-19, 8-15, leaving the Ballhawks with a hard fought silver.
