Maroons’ Ryan Wagner Makes NCAA Commitment

Chatham Maroons netminder Ryan Wagner made an NCAA commitment over the weekend, choosing the University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point men’s hockey program.

Wagner, an Indianapolis, Indiana product, was Chatham’s starting goaltender this season, appearing in 36 regular season game, registering a .907 save percentage and 3.33 goals against average, while collecting an 18-14-3 record.

The 1997 born goalie joined the Maroons after the start of the season to solidify their crease. He stepped up his game in the playoffs, posting a .913 save percentage and 2.93 GAA, helping the Maroons upset LaSalle in the opening round of the GOJHL playoffs.

Last season, Wagner split time between the GOJHL’s Cambridge Winter Hawks and the SIJHL’s Fort Frances Lakers. He played his rookie Junior season with the Palm Beach Hawks organization in Florida.

The NCAA Division III University of Wisconsin-Stevens Point Pointers compete in the Wisconsin Intercollegiate Athletic Conference. They advanced to the NCAA Division III Final Four this season, being eliminated in the National semi-final.
