Joseph Raaymakers In ECHL
Chatham’s Joseph Raaymakers is making his first step into professional hockey, signing an amateur tryou agreement with the East Coast Hockey League’s (ECHL) Cincinnati Cyclones.
Raamakakers is coming off a spectacular season with the OHL’s London Knights, recording a 29-13-1-1 record with a 2.84 GAA and .910 save percentage, along with 3 shutuots.
Joseph Raaymakers has spent the entirety of his OHL career with the Soo Greyhounds until this season, when he held out at the start of the season until he could be traded.
The London Knights were near the bottom of the OHL standings before Raaymakers’ acquisition, with his play spearheading a turnaround for the storied franchise.
The four year OHL veteran was among league leaders in all categories.
He has multiple summers of NHL camp experience skating with the Tampa Bay Lightning and New York Rangers the past two offseasnos.
The Cincinnati Cyclones are affiliates for the AHL’s Rochester Americans and NHL’s Buffalo Sabres.
The Cyclones have played 5 different goaltenders this season.
