Several Chatham products will be competing in Ontario’s top women’s hockey league, the PWHL this season.

Chatham Outlaws Heart Award winner, Mikayla Demaiter will suit up for the Bluewater Hawks Junior team this season. Demaiter, who also backstopped the Chatham-Kent Secondary School girls hockey team this season, will play her first season of Junior while she attends University in London.

She’s joined by fellow Chatham Outlaws alumni Hannah Thompson, Taylor Clarke, and Natasha Simioni who both played for Chatham’s Midget ‘AA’ team last season on Bluewater this season. Simioni is from Komoka, and Clarke from Sarnia, while Thompson hails from Wyoming.

Down the 401 in Windsor, Chatham’s Kirsten Horney will return for her third season with the Southwest Wildcats, while Cassie Whiteye has also signed to play for Southwest.

Jessie McPherson will return to the Cambridge Rivulettes for her second season, while Emma Gorski and Kaitlyn Isaac are both expected to make team changes heading into this season. McPherson, Gorski, and Isaac are all NCAA Division I committed players.
