Chad Laprise Knocked Out

Chad Laprise of Chatham fell victim to a first round knock out at UFC Fight Night in Santiago, Chile this weekend.

The 31-year-old Laprise, who entered the fight with a 14-2-0 professional MMA record, and a 6-2 UFC record, was fighting fellow welterweight Vicente Luque.

Luque connected on a left punch to Laprise’s jaw, which led to a 4:15 stoppage in the first.

Luque of Brazil has now defeated 6 of the 7 UFC fighters he has faced by knockout or submission. He improved to 13-6-1 record.

This was Laprise’s first loss since moving back to the 170lbs division.
