Former Maroons Headed To RBC Cup With Wellington

Several former Chatham Maroons helped the OJHL’s Wellington Dukes win the Dudley Hewitt Cup this weekend.

The Duke defeated the Dryden Ice Dogs 7-4 in the championship game. The tournament crowns the Central Canadian Junior A champion, featuring the winners of the OJHL, NOJHL, and SIJHL.

Bryce Yetman, who played with Chatham this year, and led the Dukes in playoff goals, had a goal and an assist in the championship game, and finished the tournament with 7 points in 6 games, including a team leading 5 goals.

His Maroons teammate from this season, Josh Supryka had 2 assists in the championship game, while Teddy McGeen, who played in Chatham last season, had an assist in the final.

Andrew Barbeau, another former Maroons player is also on Wellington.

The Wellington Dukes will now advance to the Canadian Junior A Championships, the RBC Cup, from May 12-21 in Chilliwack, British Columbia.
