Chatham-Kent Mayor Randy Hope let the cat out of the bag Thursday in front of a full room of community members at the John D. Bradley Centre, explaining that plans and negotiations are underway for a new twin-pad arena in Chatham.

Although the community has heard this same plan several times before, a draft blueprint was also displayed, which showed the twin-pad arena, as well as other recreational facilities, such as multiple new baseball diamonds.

The facility would be near the corner of Richmond and Keil in Chatham.

The annual address by the mayor is made to the Chatham-Kent Chamber of Commerce, and focuses on growth and developments in the community.
