JR KINGS BRING SMASH WRESTLING TO DRESDEN – THIS SATURDAY!

Professional wrestling is coming to Dresden this Saturday night!

As seen weekly on The Fight Network, Smash Wrestling will debut at the Dresden Arena at 6 pm on Saturday, June 16th.

The event is a fundraiser for the Dresden Jr Kings PJHL hockey organization.

“We’re always looking for different ways to fundraise,” said club President Dave Cameron. “We’ve been following what Smash Wrestling has been doing locally and thought they were a perfect fit.”

Smash Wrestling has quickly become one of Canada’s top professional wrestling outfits, since its inception five years ago. With regular events in Toronto, London and now Sarnia, Chatham-Kent has been a targeted

“Our community is always supportive and are the backbone of the Kings organization,” added Cameron. “We think this will be a really fun night and could be the start of a regular tour stop for Smash.”

Smash Wrestling has become a Canadian and international phenom in the wrestling industry in recent years. Their roster is recognized by wrestling fans as one of the strongest in the country, and Smash is known to leave fans wanting more.

Both Tyson Dux and Cody Deaner, two of the country’s top unsigned stars will make their way to Dresden. Dux and Deaner have both been seen on international television with the WWE and TNA/Impact Wrestling. Dux, the former and longest reigning Smash Wrestling Champion in company history, competed in the WWE Cruiserweight Classic in 2017.

The event will also showcase local competitors, including Dresden’s own Aaron Wood (Super K) and Thamesville’s Rick McEachran (Ricky James), who will go head to head in a battle of two former LKCS graduates. They will share the ring with old friend Jay Smith of 99.1 CKXS, who serves as a referee for Smash Wrestling. The three are old friends, who began their pro wrestling journeys in the FWF, out of Florence and Thamesville.

Doors open at 5pm on Saturday. Bell time is 6pm. The event features a licenced bar and is open to all ages.
