Ken Houston Memorial Scholarship Fund Founded
This past weekend saw local hockey legend Ken Houston honoured at Dresden Raceway, with the running of the Ken Houston Memorial Pace.
As well, a live auction, silent auction, and raffle helped build the newly formed Ken Houston Memorial Scholarship Fund.
In all, the day raised $5000 toward the scholarship fund.
That amount was bolstered by several past and present NHLers on hand including Eric Vail, Tom Williams, Pat Ribble, John Gould, Pat Riggen, and current member of the Calgary Flames, and fellow Dresden product TJ Brodie.
A local group is also striving to have the Lambton-Kent Memorial Agricultural Centre renamed after Ken Houston. This process was helped Monday night by a successful motion at council setting the groundwork for renaming and naming Municipal buildings and land.
