A pair of local athletes, Hokey Langan (Chatham) and Rachael Tricker (Thamesville) will be playing for Team Canada this week at the World Ball Hockey Federation’s women’s world championship.

The tournament runs from June 12-18 in Moscow, Russia.

Langan is the Canadian captain, and is competing in her fourth championship, winning gold three times. This will be the second appearance on Team Canada for Tricker.

Tricker was last year’s Tournament Best Defenseman in the Czech Republic, while Langan led the tournament in scoring with 18 points.

Canada will open their tournament Tuesday against Great Britain, followed by pool games against the Czech Republic, USA, and Russia.
