McPhee Finalist For NHL’s GM Of The Year

George McPhee, general manager for the NHL’s Vegas Golden Knights is a finalist for the 2017-2018 NHL General Manager of the Year Award.

Wallaceburg born, McPhee is one of three finalists, along with Tampa Bay Lightning GM Steve Yzerman, and Winnipeg Jets GM Kevin Cheveldayoff.

The NHL Awards ceremony will take place June 20 in Las Vegas.

Building the Golden Knights from the ground up as an expansion team, Vegas won their division and finished the regular season with a 51-24-7 record, advancing to the Stanley Cup final.

This is the second time McPhee has been nominated for this award. He previously was a nominee for his work with the Washington Capitals.
