Nolan DeKoning Joins The Sarnia Legionnaires

Nolan DeKoning of Wallaceburg has committed to play for the Sarnia Legionnaires of the GOJHL next season.

The 17-year-old, 6’2″ netminder played for the Lambton Jr. Sting Major Midget ‘AAA’ team last season, earning himself a nod to play in the Alliance Hockey All-Star game.

DeKoning played his Minor Midget ‘AAA’ season with the Chatham-Kent Cyclones.

He also appeared in one game this season for the Legionnaires as an emergency call up.

As well, DeKoning played for the UCC Lancers boys hockey team this season.

The Legionnaires also signed goalie Jakob Knowles who played Junior C last season for the Petrolia Flyers.

With the commitment of two new goalies, it’s expected the out of town duo of Will Barber, who was a GOJHL All-Rookie Team selection, and Blair Coffin will not be returning.
