Rachael Tricker of Thamesville and Hokey Langan of Chatham won silver medals at the World Ball Hockey Federation women’s world championships in Moscow Sunday.

Canada lost 2-1 to host Russia in a controversial shootout.

Langan scored in the opening round of the shootout, followed by Russia tying it up again. Canada then scored in round 4, but had the goal overturned after a lengthy discussion by Russian officials.

In the semi-final, a 3-1 win over the Czech Republic, Tricker scored once, and Langan scored twice to lead Canada to the gold medal game.
