Butzer Moves From Athlete To Coach

Local golfer Mackenzie Butzer made a name for herself on courses across North America the past four years while competing for Bethune-Cookman University, now she’ll be moving behind the scenes, serving as a graduate assistant coach for the school’s golf team.

Butzer finished her NCAA Division I playing career winning two straight PGA Minority Collegiate Championship individual titles, and four straight team titles with Bethune-Cookman.

Continuing to study, taking a master’s degree in public health, Butzer will now aim to assist other young golfers reach their potential, and continue the winning streak at Bethune-Cookman.

Butzer, a Chatham product, is also a member at Maple City Country Club in Chatham.
