Dawson Wins Gold With Canada At World Juniors

Kyle Dawson helped Team Canada defeat Team Iroquois in the gold medal game of the World Junior Lacrosse Championships to secure gold.

Dawson, a long time Wallaceburg Red Devils and Wallaceburg Lacrosse member, had 6 goals and 11 points in 3 games at the tournament, including 2 goals and an assist in the gold medal game.

Canada defeated Iroquois 15-10 in the game, which took place in Saskatoon, Saskatchewan.

Dawson served as an assistant captain for Team Canada.

Fellow Wallaceburg Red Devils forward Marshall Powless was the tournament’s leading scorer, and was named to the All-Tournament team, while staring for Iroquois in a silver medal effort.

Also suiting up for Team Iroquois from the Wallaceburg Red Devils were Tyler Brown, Owen Martin, and Cecil Jacobs.
