NHL’s Hometown Hockey Coming To Chatham This December

Rogers Hometown Hockey Tour, presented by Scotiabank, will make a two day stop in Chatham-Ken this December featuring free family-friendly activities, entertainment, giveaways, and NHL alumni.

The event will also include an outdoor viewing party of the Tampa Bay Lightning playing the Winnipeg Jets December 16 at 6:30pm.

On site in Chatham will be longtime Hockey Night in Canada host Ron MacLean as well as Tara Slone.

“We’re honoured that Rogers Hometown Hockey has chosen Chatham-Kent to host a stop on their tour,” said current Chatham-Kent Mayor Randy Hope in a Municipality news release. “This event will bring our community together and is an excellent opportunity to showcase Chatham-Kent’s incredible scenery, stories, and people on a national stage.”

According to a Rogers news release, MacLean and Slone are looking forward to the annual cross country tour.

“From St. John’s to Victoria to Whitehorse, Tara and I have had the privilege of honouring the tradition of hockey in Canada for the past four seasons – and we can’t wait to unearth all the surprises that this season will have in store,” said Ron MacLean.

“In a hockey culture as rich as Canada, we still have so many stories to share this season,” added Slone.

This December, Chatham-Kent will have an opportunity to tell their own hockey stories.
