Pegg Named All-Ontarian

Morpeth’s Emma Pegg has been named an All-Ontarian by Athletics Ontario after a spectacular 2018 track and field season.

At the high school level, Pegg won multiple OFSAA medals, including a gold in the 800m, bronze in the 400m, and silver as part of her school’s 4x400m relay team.

Pegg, who was named an All-Ontarian in the U16 girls bracket, and who represents Windsor Legion in the summer season followed up her high school performance with a plethora of medals in the summer.

Emma Pegg added two medals at the Royal Canadian Legion’s Ontario Track and Field Championships winning gold in the midget girls 800m with a time of 2:16.38 and a silver in the 1200m event, finishing in 3:44.10.

Not done yet, Pegg starred at the Athletics Ontario Championship winning the 800m event with a time of 2:13.53, the U16 girls 1200m run with a time of 3:39.31 and was also part of the silver medal winning U18 4x400m relay.

Pegg is a nominee for Athlete of the Year in her age category.

She will be honoured along with Ontario’s other top athletes at the 2018 Athletics Ontario Awards Gala and Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony at the Chelsea Hotel in Toronto, on Saturday, September 29.
