Raaymakers Invited To Blue Jackets’ Main Camp
Joseph Raaymakers has been invited to participate in the Columbus Blue Jackets main camp this week.
The 20-year-old netminder recently played for Columbus at the Traverse City NHL Prospect Tournament, appearing in one game and making 17 saves in a win. Columbus was the eventual champion of the tournament.
Raaymakers reported for physicals Thursday, and will participate in off-ice workouts and on-ice testing Friday before the team begins to practice Saturday at Nationwide Arena and OhioHealth Ice Haus.
Raaymakers is entering his final OHL campaign, and is coming off his best season, backstopping the London Knights. He had a 29-13-1-1- record, along with a .910 save percentage and 2.84 GAA.
Undrafted at the NHL level, Raaymakers has twice been to NHL Rookie Tournaments, with the Tampa Bay Lightning and New York Rangers.
At the close of last season, Raaymakers made his professional hockey debut, suiting up in a game for the ECHL’s Cincinnati Cyclones.
