Two New Recruits for Blenheim
The Blenheim Blades filled out their 2018-19 Provincial Junior Hockey League Stobbs Division lineup Wednesday by announcing the signing of two forwards – their 16-year old selection, Cam Symons of Kingsville, and second-year South Kent Minor Hockey graduate Chase Henry.
Symons played two seasons ago with the Chatham AAA minor midgets and last year with the AAA major midgets.
Henry, 18, split time during the 2017-18 year with the Chatham Maroons and the Blades.
Both played Wednesday night in the Blades exhibition game in Wheatley against the Sharks. The Blades lost 5-4 in overtime with Symons scoring a goal.
Henry had a goal Sunday night when the Blades defeated the North Middlesex Stars 7-4 in another exhibition game.
The Blades and Sharks will meet again Sunday at 7 p.m. at the Blenheim arena to wrap up their four-game exhibition schedule.
The regular season begins Wednesday, Sept. 12 with the Blades travelling to Wallaceburg to play the Lakers at 7:30, before opening the home schedule Sunday, Sept. 16 against the Amherstburg Admirals at 7 p.m.
