UCC Lancers To Play In WECSSAA Football League

The LKSSAA Junior Football loop may be no longer, but that doesn’t mean every team is calling it quits. The UCC Lancers have decided to head Southwest this year to compete in the Windsor and Essex County Secondary Schools Athletic Association (WECSSAA).

On Tuesday, of this week, UCC attended the WECSSAA coaches meeting, where it was decided the Lancers would be welcomed into the league immediately for the 2018 Fall season.

“The U.C.C. Jr. Lancer football coaches were invited to and attended the WECSSAA area coaches meeting and at that time were welcomed into their regular season schedule for the 2018 fall season,” Lancers head coach Jim O’Brien wrote to CKSN.

“The Lancers are now looking forward to begin a new and exciting chapter,” he added.

UCC will play a 7 game regular season against Holy Names, Villanova, Brennan, Kennedy, Sandwich, and Massey.

The Lancers will open their 2018 WECSSAA regular season Wednesday, September 19.
