The Chatham Maroons made a blockbuster trade Wednesday, acquiring GOJHL stars Maddux Rychel and Griffin Robinson from the Leamington Flyers.

In exchange, the Maroons sent veterans Thomas Michaud and Josh King to Leamington in the four players deal.

“We are excited to announce a trade with Leamington that brings us Maddux Rychel and Griffin Robinson,” Chatham head coach Kyle Makaric wrote. “These two are exceptional players with multiple years of Junior B experience and will fit in nicely with our group. We want to thank Thomas Michaud and Josh King for their time and efforts given to the Chatham Maroons. We wish them both the best of luck in their future hockey endeavours.”

Rychel, an OHL draft pick had 21 points in 17 games at the time of the trade. The 6’4″ forward had 45 points in 35 games last season, and has 8 games of OHL experience with the Windsor Spitfires on his resume.

Robinson, who is also 19 years-old, had 23 points in 18 games this season. Last year, Robinson had 33 goals and 55 points in 50 games for Leamington.
