Pool Sharks Earn Medals At Ontario Junior International Meet
The Chatham Pool Sharks National Performance Group competed this past weekend at Swim Ontario’s Junior International meet, held at the Pam Am pool in Scarborough. This short course meet had very fast admission times, and featured some of the fastest swimmers from across Canada. The meet also had teams/swimmers from Japan, England, Scotland, and Switzerland.
The meet is open age (meaning no age categories below 18) and just to make finals the Sharks had to swim personal lifetime bests.
Fortunately, the Sharks did not disappoint. Madison Broad (18) won gold in the 50 back, 100 back, and 200 back; Genevieve Sasseville (15) won gold in the 200 fly and silver in the 50 and 100 fly. David Tran and Madeline Tran also qualified for the swim meet and all swam personal bests.
This meet is the last competition in the short course season and now the swimmers will turn their attention to the 50-metre long course season.
