Jana Kucera Leading The Province In Scoring
Her 20.2 point per game average is the only total over 20-points, with the next highest scorer sitting at 18.5
“I wouldn’t say there is any one thing that is key to my success,” told CKSN about leading the province in scoring. “I have set goals for myself, especially since my sister broke her collarbone, to contribute as much as I can to our team’s success,” noted Jana of the injury her twin sister and teammate Logan suffered earlier this season.
“I try to fit in extra workouts to maintain my overall strength and also get to the gym for some extra shooting with coaches whenever possible. I trust my teammates and they are finding me at the right time and coaches are putting me in the right positions with our offense. Just as important, I am believing in myself and that has made me more consistent this season.”
Kucera had a double-double Wednesday for the struggling Saints, scoring 19-points and adding 13-rebounds.
She also leads the OCAA in total points with 262, and is 4th in total assists with 58, and 6th in steals with 40.
St. Clair is currently 6th in the OCAA’s West Division with a 7-7 record.
