Vandenboorn Scores OT Winner To Keep Kings Alive

When it counted the most, the Dresden Kings’ leading scorer came up big.

With their season on the line, Nolan Vandenboorn scored at 12:35 of overtime to lift the Dresden Kings to a 2-1 win in game five over the Lakeshore Canadiens. Vandenboorn was the PJHL Stobbs Division leading scorer and MVP this season.

Dresden now trails Lakeshore 3-2 in the best of seven series.

Dawson Winchester had the other Dresden Kings goal, scoring on a penalty shot at 1:11 of the third period to knot things at 1-1.

Rookie netminder and London Knights draft pick Brett Brochu was the first star of the game, stopped 46 shots in the win.

Game six is back in Dresden Friday, March 1 at 7:30pm.
