New Girls Hockey Organization To Be Called The Chatham-Kent Crush

The new Chatham-Kent Girls Hockey Association will go by the moniker Chatham-Kent Crush, it was announced this week at an unveiling.

The Chatham-Kent Crush are a combination of the former Chatham Outlaws and Kent Fillies girls hockey organizations, who announced their amalgamation earlier this year.

Tryouts are set to begin, with the first two Chatham-Kent Crush teams hitting the ice being the Bantam A and Midget AA teams on April 23 from 6:30-8pm and 8-9:30pm respectively at Thames Campus Arena in Chatham.

A new website is also being launched at www.ckgha.com and the Chatham-Kent Crush organization is encouraging all travel and house league players to sign up for tryouts and register early.

The name and logo for the Chatham-Kent Crush was chosen from a naming/logo contest submitted from close to 30 applicants.
