Welch Lifts Kings Over Leamington

Cameron Welch scored a pair of second period goals to lift the underdog Komoka Kings over the Leamington Flyers in game three of their GOJHL playoff series.

Welch, a Blenheim product, finished with the game tying, and game winning goals in the 3-2 win.

Komoka now leads Leamington 2-1 in their series.

Charing Cross’ Thomas Michaud scored the opening goal of the game for the Leamington Flyers shorthanded. Michaud continues to lead Leamington in playoff scoring with 3 goals and 9 points in 8 games.

Welch has 4 goals and 6 points through 8 games with Komoka.

Both players started the season playing for the Chatham Maroons.

Game 4 in the series is Tuesday, March 19 in Komoka at 7:15pm.
