Maroons Looking To Add Competitive, Hungry Players

The Chatham Maroons know they need more fire on the ice.

When their spring camp opens early next month, they’ll have plenty of open spaces for players who are hungry to compete.

“Looking back at the early exit, the traits we are looking for would be competitive, hungry players who are going to win races and don’t mind playing in the dirty areas,” said head coach Kyle Makaric.

“We are looking for guys to come in and compete,” he continued, looking forward to the camp. “We were thrilled with the spring camp last year and found players that made an impact for us this past season at that camp so we are looking forward to that formula again.”

According to Makaric, there is one key difference to this year’s camp compared to last year. This year, the team has many open spots to fill at the top of their roster.

“Difference this time around is we have plenty of spots open and lots of opportunity for players to come in and play an important role right away.”

The Chatham Maroons Spring Evaluation Camp runs May 3, 4, and 5 at Thames Campus Arena in Chatham.
