Nicholas One Step Closer To 2020 Olympic Games

Breanne Nicholas of Blenheim and Canada’s Rugby 7s team climbed one step closer to securing a spot at the 2020 Olympic Games in Tokyo, Japan.

Nicholas and Canada won the most recent stop on the HSBC World Rugby 7s Series in Kitakyushu, Japan. The top four teams from the series qualify for the Olympics, with Canada sitting in second place.

Canada defeated England 7-5 for the championship on this stop of the series, and finished the tournament undefeated also beating the USA, Russia, Australia, China, and Spain.

Nicholas had three conversions in the 42-19 win over China.

The final two stops in the series will take place May 11-12 Langford, British Columbia, followed by the final event in Biarritz, France.
