Ryen Stevens Teeing Up For Loyola University New Orleans
With he grew up in rural Chatham-Kent, and went to school in small town Pain Court at Ecole Secondaire de Pain Court, the big city was calling Stevens.
“I chose Loyola University New Orleans because I’m really taken by the city’s unique culture,” he explained.
The Maple City Country Club member said that the opportunity to play year round golf in New Orleans’ climate was a major draw to sign with the NAIA school.
“With the availability of a year round golf season, I will be able to develop and strengthen my golf game by taking it to the next level,” said Stevens, who will Major in International Business.
The Jamieson Junior Golf Tour member knows he’ll have work to do on the course when he arrives to compete for the Wolfpack, but the opportunity to compete at this level is a dream come true.
“I will work to meet my coach’s expectations and be a valuable member of the Wolfpack team,” said Stevens of his goals.
“To know that I will be given the opportunity to play golf at a university level is surreal. I have been training and preparing myself for a long time and I am grateful that my dream is beginning to come true.”
