Spencer Lecot Drafted By The Flint Firebirds
Former long time Chatham-Kent Cyclones defender Spencer Lecot was drafted Wednesday in the OHL U18 Draft.
Lecot was selected 22nd overall in the second round of the draft by the OHL’s Flint Firebirds.
Considered a sure fire draft pick last year after a strong campaign as the Chatham-Kent Cyclones Minor Midget ‘AAA’ captain, Lecot was passed over, but did represent the Alliance at the OHL Gold Cup.
This season playing for the Major Midget Windsor Jr. Spitfires, Lecot, a Harrow product, had 17 goals and 33 points in 35 games.
He also played 9 games split between the regular season and playoffs for the Junior B Leamington Flyers. He also played a handful of games the year prior for the Chatham Maroons.
