The Wallaceburg Lakers are staying put for the time being.

After applying to the OHA to move the organization from Wallaceburg to Tilbury, the team was denied this move this week.

“At their meeting on Monday April 15th, the OHA Board denied the Wallaceburg application to relocate to Tilbury,” the Ontario Hockey Association wrote to CKSN.

The Wallaceburg Lakers also announced this week they will be hosting spring camps on April 29 and 30 in Chatham.

The Junior C franchise has operated in Wallaceburg since the 1970s.

Happy to hear the Lakers are staying put in Wallaceburg, but I think it would be great some day if Tilbury got a franchise. It would even out the number of teams in the league.

Good. Nobody bothered to ask me what I thought. Not a peep…even once. Then the OHA called. Nice ‘partners’.
