WNBA Draft Waiting For Bridget Carleton This Week
Bridget Carleton will be one of many anxious prospects this week when the WNBA Draft gets underway on April 10.
The three round draft, selects the best graduating players, primarily from the NCAA.
Carleton is considered by most to be a lock for the draft, and is slotted in to go as high as the first round. There are 12 picks, one per team, in each round.
Carleton’s coach at Iowa State over the past four years believes she is ready to make the jump to pro, and WNBA teams will immediately benefit from selecting the Chatham product.
“Bridget is definitely a player who can play professionally and be a great asset to any team that selects her,” said Bill Fennelly, head coach of the Iowa State Cyclones. “I don’t think there is a better player in the upcoming draft that has the overall skill set physically and mentally like Bridget has moving to the next level.”
