Ballhawks Win Gold At Ontario Championships

The Chatham Ballhawks 16U Girls White team took Division 4 Tier 2 gold at the Ontario Provincials in Waterloo this past weekend.

The girls opened their pool play going 3-0 in matches, defeating St. Thomas Express 2-0, Waves White (Toronto) 2-0, and EVP Eagles Red (Oakville) 2-1.

On the second day of competition, the girls struggled to hit the win column going 0-3 against Lakeside Oakville 0-2, Guelph Jr. Gryphons Flames 0-2, ad Georgian Cubs Shock (Barrie) 1-2.

In the Tier 4 playoffs on the final day, Chatham found their groove again, beating Georgian Bay Vista (Midland) 2-0 in the round of 16, and the Galaxy Flares (Etobicoke) 25-19, 25-16 in the quarterfinals.

Facing the Kawarth Krushers in the semi finals, Chatham again dominated winning 25-15, 25-12, before beating the Guelph Jr. Gryphons Flames in the final, 21-25, 25-23, 15-10.
