Maroons Open Camp Today
The Chatham Maroons are opening their 2019-2020 training camp today at Chatham’s Thames Campus Arena.
“We are looking for guys to come in and compete,” Chatham Maroons head coach Kyle Makaric told CKSN about their training camp earlier this spring. “We were thrilled with the spring camp last year and found players that made an impact for us this past season at that camp so we are looking forward to that formula again.”
According to Makaric, there is one key difference to this year’s camp compared to last year. This year, the team has many open spots to fill at the top of their roster.
“Difference this time around is we have plenty of spots open and lots of opportunity for players to come in and play an important role right away.”
The Chatham Maroons Spring Evaluation Camp runs May 3, 4, and 5 at Thames Campus Arena in Chatham.
Registration and team practices will take place Friday night from 5-9pm.
Saturday, each of the four teams will place games from 12pm to 6pm.
Sunday will see semi-finals and finals from 9am to 12pm, followed by player interviews, and the annual Maroon and White game from 2-4pm.
Chatham was eliminated in the opening round of the GOJHL playoffs by the Komoka Kings.
